the Sun Tunnels …

… one of the Sun Tunnels in the dry, ancient, glacial lake desert near Lucin, Utah. I’ve driven there four times now — and I’ll keep going as long as I can … (Explainer.)
Denny uploaded a second shot. Here’s my take.

Holt created and placed the Sun Tunnels, near the deserted hamlet of Lucin, Utah, in 1976. She and her husband were progenitors of the land art (sometimes called earth art) movement in the ’70s. For more, see my explainer from last year’s visit.
The Sun Tunnels (their history and my first visit here) are so … well, elemental. They stand as remarkable contrasts to a remarkable landscape, the northwesternmost reaches of the bed of Glacial Lake Bonneville. I need to go back as often as I can before I pass on.
And what are the Sun Tunnels?
