My trade has always been in words – a professional communications strategist and writer by day and a blogger and creative writer in all my “spare time.” But I always loved pictures and desperately wished I had some talent in the visual arts.
Recently, after completing my latest book of poetry, I decided it was time to explore something new. So I bought a camera. What I don’t know about photography would fill libraries, but I sure am having fun learning.
I maintain a personal photoblog and contribute to multiple other sites. You can see more of what I’m up to by visiting:
- Lullaby Pit: Personal blog. Founded in April of 1994, the Pit is one of the 2000 oldest branded sites on the Web.
- Lullaby Pit Photography: The Pit’s photography adjunct. Some of the shots there are cross-posted here, but not all of them.
- Scholars & Rogues: A journal of progressive culture. I’m a founder and publisher, as well as the most active contributor.
I shoot with a Nikon D90. My favorite toy is an awesome Tamron 10-24mm wide-angle lens. Most of my shots are processed (and in some cases overprocessed) using Photmatix and Photoshop. My photography hero is Andreas Feininger. Here’s why.
