Five years ago the traveling Da Vinci’s Machines Exhibition visited Denver.
During his time, the technology didn’t exist to actually build many of his inventions, but it does today, and this show gives shape and form to dozens of those wondrous ideas.

Art can be an incremental process. Then there are times when, without warning, you find yourself caught in the throes of some muse’s dying, orgasmic spasm, well and truly beyond any rational explanation.
This remains one of my favorite images, shot in a nature conservancy near where I live. I know more about image processing now (I hope), so I went back and had another go at it.
If I ever get stranded in Kansas City – not saying I want to get stranded in Kansas City, but if – I’m visiting this place.
… perhaps I shouldn’t have had that third glass of wine today …
