I did the same thing coming out of the Black Creek Mountains in northern Nevada back around 30 years ago. Except I was lucky. I saw two cars over about the same 100 mile distance. Had bad tires. Afraid they would blow. My anxiety was high. It was hot, but it was a dry heat. So I felt okay. You know?
