It seems to have a bit more depth of field than my Sony 100mm F2.8 Macro. It would have been hard to get a bit of detail on the secondary stems with the 100mm.
I’ve gotten to the point where I focus stack everything I shoot with the macro anymore so I don’t worry so much about depth of field. And my f-stop is usually in the 11-14 range. Otherwise I have about a micron of focus… 🙂
Nicely done. What did you shoot this with?
Thanks, Sam. this was shot with a Sony A55V and a Tamron 16-300 at 300mm F6.3 for 1/100th of a second. Indoor light (halogen) with no flash.
I would not have guessed that lens choice.

I use a Canon 100mm. Think “focus stacking” …
What do you use for stacking?
Basic Photoshop flow.
Nowadays I’m finding that extreme wide angle lenses, because they focus so closely, serve as macro lenses with better DoF.
