For more than 25 years, I’ve been watching this stone cabin, built in the late 1800s along Route 305 north of Austin, Nevada, disintegrate. It plays a role in my first novel, Mapping Utah. When I see the cabin again, probably next May, I expect the rest of the roof to be further collapsed.
