Circa 19th century. Beautiful piece. B/W or color?

B&W may be a preferred way of dealing with classic stuff like the piece you shot, but in this case, I think it steals away the incredibly huge and positive effect of the setting for the white profile and their gold background. Color is my vote here.

I think you’re right. The B/W flattens that part out.

Though I think color is best, the black and white offers a classic, old-world look.
