This one is 1/160 vs the 13s of the previous one. The water is less blue in this, and I think it blends better, but I still think the edges of the water appear to be laid in. Maybe it is the dark lines at the edges of the river, which I assume are undercut erosion.
I liked the first one a lot better Evan but I’m a sucker for color.
I do too. This one came out of the “adequate but uninspired” bin to compare with my preferred version to see if the odd appearance of the river was entirely due to the long exposure and smooth water — that got me that lovely blue. I think there’s no question that it contributes (contrast of color, contrast of smooth versus jagged — both between the water and the landscape), but I think there’s also something about the riverbank that contributes as well.
