Somewhere on a long quiet road in New Mexico south and east of Santa Fe. Photography is a unique friend indeed – why else would I, gazing at a stunning blue sky, leap out of the car and think – wow can I make that sky black in a photo? Not too bad I guess for a point and shoot.
Reblogged this on iteensmash.
Thank you. I’m a sucker for a road shot that leads to infinity. Every time I’m in that area you mention, I’m stunned by the unique quality of the light. People talk about it all the time, but if you let yourself, you can see how it is different from anywhere else. Did you like this in color, also?
The light and colors of New Mexico were magic – so different than the palette of the PNW. That blue sky was a shade of blue I had never seen – I wondered if that was because of the high altitude?
Your shot inspired my posting of the Devil’s Highway image. Thanks.
Thanks for posting them. 🙂
Dawn and Greg are teaming up now, looks like. If you’ve never been in that endless desert it seems impossible. Once you have driven across it, I think it might even seem more impossible.
That is the weird magic of this vast country.
