Is that a tree in front of a mirror in the center? Whatever, you did a great job of capturing the “immenseness” of the place. I want to sit in one of those chairs and drink a Pabst from a can. I want to eat corned beef hash from a can. I want to wear shorts and a Hawaiian shirt. Barefoot. There is something about these kind of places I just admire the hell out of, and immediately need to control the projected power they emanate.
The funny thing is that it’s not really that big. The mirror makes it look a lot bigger, and the wide-angle lens does the rest. But yeah, this shot conveys a lot of space.
What I’d love to do is get back in there one day on my own. I took this leaning across a velvet rope from the adjoining room and trying to wrestle off the crowd. This was taken in extremely shooter-unfriendly conditions, and if you gave me the run of the place for a few moments I could do a lot better.
I wonder if mac and cheese tastes better in a gilded chair? Does the governor really live and entertain in this building?
Not sure. I think some do and some don’t.

I don’t think it’s a tree – some kind of greenery, though.
I don’t think they let people like you into the Governor’s dining room with Spam and Pabst, though.
Echoing Greg: Shooting interiors is demanding. Like he said, you captured the immensity of the space.
