Denny … curious, I’m seeing a halo around the treeline tops. Is that actually there, or is it an illusion caused by hundreds of small branches? And why Nik-ify the image? What advantage does it provide beyond the color slider manipulation available in ACR?
The Nik-ify is simply a desire to experiment with it. This is essentially the application of a red filter. This was shot in early afternoon on the bluest sky we’ve had here in some time. So I think that halo may be an artifact of deep blue high, lighter blue near the horizon, and the filter’s interpretation of those two hues. I’ll play with another version with the ACR sliders and we’ll see how that compares.
