I went back into your Flickr account to look at these images side by side. They illicit such a different emotional response – this B/W version is kind of sinister. Congratulations on creating images that are so provocative.

Yeah, when I began playing around with the b/w, I took the image to such a starkly different place – all that rich warmth gone, more emphasis on the mechanization of the background, etc. So I played up the contrast, and that’s when I was reminded of Metropolis. Which thematically works perfectly with what I’m doing in the rest of the series.
i like the effects on this version much more than the color – i think the image reads much better here, in b&w. like this alot.
