I have been exploring Syracuse and the surrounding areas whenever I can. These photos are from Rattlesnake Gulf, a stream trail that takes you through a series of small waterfalls. I took these photos with my iPhone through an application called Hipstamatic. It allows you to have sort of a fake film camera where you can switch “film” and “lenses” at will.
You took these with a freakin’ PHONE?
Good lord. Man, that tree is awesome.
The geologist in me is freakin’ out over these glacial potholes. Yeah, she uses her phone the way Ansel used a view camera.
I wouldn’t even use my name in the same sentence as Ansel.
But yes, you should try it! It’s a lot of fun, and sometimes, especially with people, less obvious. It’s easier to catch quiet or intimate moments that might escape you with a big, honkin’ DSLR. (Not that that has anything to do with this post, but I’m just sayin’)
