Yep. The eye starts with the exploding color at the top – can’t help it – and the moth. Then, as you luxuriate in that, you’re pulled downward where you get the sinister detail of the plant – the green looks almost carnivorous. Then, just as you soak that in, you notice the ants. So there’s this unusual downward flow and motion to the image – it almost reads more like video than it does a still, if I’m making sense.
Here’s my sad admission. I never the saw the ants until I posted the photo this morning. Didn’t see ’em when I shot this, didn’t see ’em in post-processing, just didn’t see ’em. I will now delete my comment to retain my heavily mediated reputation for brilliance.
